Caring for trees isn’t just about what you can see from the ground—it’s about understanding what’s happening right out at the growing tips. Good pruning work means accessing every part of the canopy, especially those outer branches where subtle defects and deadwood often start to develop.
That’s why we use our Cela DT25 spider MEWP alongside a skilled climber working within the inner canopy. This combination allows us to achieve the safest, most thorough, and most natural results for your tree.
A Dual Approach for Complete Tree Care
From the MEWP:
Our operator focuses on shaping the tree and pruning back to the correct growth points. This is essential for encouraging healthy regrowth and giving the tree the best possible chance to heal over cleanly. Correct reduction techniques minimize future decay and help prevent unnecessary epicormic growth—those weak, fast-growing shoots that appear when a tree is put under stress.
From the canopy climber:
While the MEWP provides fantastic access, some issues can only be spotted—and safely reached—from inside the canopy. By climbing through the structure of the tree, our arborists can identify deadwood, inspect branch unions, and assess trunk defects that may be hidden from view or missed by the operator.
Why This Matters for Your Tree
Using both methods ensures:
A healthier, more balanced canopy
Better long-term structural integrity
Reduced risk of decay and stress reactions
A more natural and aesthetically pleasing shape
Your tree gets a complete, all-angles inspection and a level of pruning that prioritizes long-term health, not just short-term appearance.
